Over recent months I have been doing some earplug testing and this post is part 1 in this little project. I have been testing three very different brands, each with their own strengths. Each product could be used for a variety of different purposes, each are reusable but each one does excel more than the others in one area, which I will aim to focus on.
I am not doing a direct comparison of these earplugs because all three are brilliant so I will just review them, giving my honest opinion as usual. I am also not going to comment on anything that I didn't like because I want to support these products in a positive way.
As someone that does/has suffered with anxiety and tinnitus, earplugs have always been something I have experimented with. I have also played guitar in a loud rock band and play a loud brass instrument. I also play in the Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band, which can be extremely loud and I wish I had used earplugs when I was much younger.
The 3 brands of earplugs I have tested are:
1) Happy Ears
2) SoftBliss
3)Auritech
Happy Ears Earplugs Review
Happy Ears earplugs are best for general use especially if you want a product that is completely eco-friendly. They are the most versatile of those I tried and everything about them, including the packaging is made from recycled plastics.

They come in three different sizes and have their own individual little clip closed case.

If none of the sizes fit you, then they do offer a full refund. I found that all three sizes fitted me but the large were best. The Happy Ears earplugs are very easy to put in and require no adjusting which is one reason why I recommend them for general use. Some earplugs require a bit of tweaking to get them in just right but these are quick and easy to use because they have a firm, straight stem design which is easy to hold between finger and thumb.

I used these earplugs on a flight, for sleep, for general use when I felt that my ears needed some peace and they worked great in these situations. I also recommend them for general use because sometimes you just want the edge taken off, rather than be heavily silenced and I used these for that.
Perhaps while sat at the computer or used while in a office environment, where you still need to be alert and hear if someone calls you but just want the edge of the noise taken off. I think that these are perfect for that.
As a musician or concert goer they are fine but there is probably better out there. For music, earplugs need to be specially designed to filter out noise while keeping the stuff we want to hear, which is easier said than done I am sure. This is especially true for instrumentalists who need to hear everything clearly to perform accurately.

But, for just general use at concerts, to make sure you do not have that loud ringing the next day, then Happy Ears earplugs do the job.
If you are a traveller and want to do your bit for the environment to help offset some environmental impacts travel can have then these are perfect. We should all aim to help the planet and encourage more companies to make eco-friendly products.
I am going to add this paragraph to each review just to remind people that earplugs could be a choking hazard to babies, small children or pets so never leave the earplugs out of the case.
There are so many different brands of earplugs out there and as with anything, you get what you pay for, but your hearing and mental health is so much more important than saving a few pounds. I would advise anyone against buying the cheapest earplugs on the market and definitely avoid the disposable type.
