In this blog post, I am bringing you a review of a company called KGUmusic, based in the Ukraine and founded by two Ukrainian musicians who offer custom products covering a wide range of instruments, not just brass!
KGUmusic was founded in 2004 and sell a wide variety of musical instruments, including their own brands and accessories. They also offer customisations for some of their products and have their own blog!
Something really cool that KGUmusic offer is the opportunity to buy standard trumpets by brands like Yamaha or Bach and they will customise it for you with a new finish and custom trim kit. I have never seen another company who offer this. Here is an example, what an incredible finish that trumpet has! See it being played as well.
This is the first of two blogs where I am going to review products from KGUmusic. In this first one I am showing off their leather mouthpiece pouch. I have been using this pouch for a while for my own euphonium mouthpiece.

Don't get confused between this company KGUmusic and the mouthpiece brand based in Malta, called K&G as they are completely different companies.
This is a good quality leather pouch. They sell them in a wide range of colours and you can even have your name or other custom design adding to it. This is great for anyone looking for something unique that is of a good quality. I think that these pouches would make ideal Christmas or birthday presents for your family, band mates or colleagues!
They offer a range of sizes as well for different instruments. Single and double pouches for trombone and French horn but up to quad pouches for trumpet, because we know you trumpet players need space for more mouthpieces!
Please have a good browse of their website because they have so many interesting products. They have buzzing tools, mouthpiece boosters, cases, heavy caps, neck screws for saxophones, flute crowns, drum stick bags, cymbals, string instrument bow cases and even leather wallets. Who doesn't like a bit of bling for your musical instrument! Such a unique collection of products, there is something there for all instrumentalists!
The pouch I have, is in a rich dark blue colour and the fold over clasp is magnetic so it closes tight. Inside is soft and the stitching is in the same colour as the pouch which has the KGUmusic logo on it. Some of the colours they offer have different colour stitching but you can view all the colours here.
Any euphonium or trombone mouthpiece would fit inside and be well protected. My old pouch was not as good quality as this and had started to wear away on the inside because it was made from cheap felt. I really like this KGUmusic leather pouch, will continue to use it and from first impressions, I am sure it will last a long time.
