Mark Glover is the Principal Study Lecturer of Euphonium at The Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. He also has his own brass teaching studios in two International Schools and is generally in demand as a brass educator and euphonium player. He has given euphonium masterclasses in local Singaporean schools and for musicians in The Singapore Armed Forces. Mark has performed as a guest soloist in The Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore Conference Hall and The Lee Foundation Theatre, performing a wide variety of music which includes some major euphonium concertos. He is often invited to perform with The Windstars Ensemble and has performed with The Orchestra of the Music Makers on both tenor tuba and bass trumpet. He has been a guest artist during the 2013 Thailand International Brass Festival and the 2014 Singapore Trombone Festival. He recently performed a solo recital in Brunei and has lots more exciting plans!
Mark is a past runner up in The British Open Solo Competition, UK, and was a finalist in the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference in 2012. Mark was an invited artist at the 2016 International Tuba and Euphonium Conference in Knoxville, TN. In the UK, Mark most recently performed with The Virtuosi GUS Band but also won a selection of 'best soloist' prizes during his time as the principal euphonium of The Staffordshire Band.
Mark is a well qualified and experienced classroom music teacher as well as a brass specialist and had particular success in the UK working with children who have special educational needs. He has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and holds his honors degree from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he studied with Andrew Fawbert, Robert Childs, Richard Adams and Christopher Mowat. During his degree Mark was privileged to have performed with The Tongwynlais Band, Tredegar Band and The Cory Band. He has also received guidance from Steven Mead, David Thornton and Sergio Carolino. Mark is a performing artist for the British instrument maufacturer, STERLING.
